Aleph is a different kind of mouse. I have come to suspect that all the other mice were simply its children, but it could not teach them its skills. In fact, they seemed to exist in open defiance of Aleph’s every subtlety. I think A watched one of them die in a trap my roommate misread as empty. Aleph leaves no traces. Cannot be caught in traps. Does not repeat behavior. Get it?
