Sitting here, badly injured, freezing, gives one time to understand their own history. I now realize that John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’ was actually about something like… my own government and the ideas that comprise human governments, corporations, &c. Nothing was deadlier, more contagious, or more capable of ‘taking over’ friends, family, strangers, and even… the sky, the earth, the living beings.
