Many of the people we understand as brilliant experience their own creativity and thought about relations as analogical. Those who can improvise apt analogies on the fly appear to be mystically inspired (and perhaps some are). But we should understand something amazing about our own intelligence: its roots are analogical, which is to say, metaphoric.
