The idea of observation is misfounded. In order to observe, you must emit something, which you mingle with the world, and draw back into yourself. The eyes do not merely see light, they reflect it and ’emit’ an aspect of the flow which animates us. Even without eyes this is true; we bring something to experience which, without us, is not there — it penetratres, it spirals, it returns laden with treasure…
