If women are property, to be raped, tortured, and killed for being victims, or for having the hope of being loved instead of being property — then the cultures,˚traditions˚ and institutions that tolerate or support this are cancerous horrors that must be eradicated from the minds and lives of humanity forever. They have made being human something too ugly to bear, and their actions are an unconscionable atrocity which defiles divinity and humanity.
“Where I am from, if a Christian so much as touches a Muslim woman, we want him dead. And the woman must pay. When I found her in our bed with a Christian, I killed them both with a rifle before I even had a thought. The judge commended me, but said I should flee because her family would hunt me — so I came to your country to die. There is nothing left. I will never see my children or family again. My life is destroyed and I live as an empty shell.” — an Iranian man I knew who ‘justifiably’ murdered his wife, and in so doing destroyed his mind, his life, his career, his family, my heart’s peace, and his own children.
