A human culture can be reasonably compared to a magic garden. The garden has many strange features. One is that you become a garden alike with those you eat from regularly. If they are toxic, you become toxic — but you will not be aware of this, and will, in fact, be certain the opposite is true. So certain will you be, that you will gladly persecute others to insure they believe this, too.
