If you openly support something that tortures people or living beings, purposefully, in order to profit from this, you should not be surprised when the process consumes you and everything and everyone you hold dear. That is the way the game was set up in the first place: you were encouraged to ignore your contributions to atrocity, to take them in stride, to deny they even exist.
