In my own life, I have been subject to irreconcileable suffering and hardship. I never resented that muchly. But when I was subjected to it on purpose by some person or organization, and when they took pleasure or profit in killing me, openly, while my family and peers stood watching and did nothing, I resented it. And of all who harmed me thus, the State of California towers amongst them.
