If you think Deep Blue defeated Gary Kasparov, you are mistaken. Firstly, it took thousands of people hundreds of years to assemble all sorts of things necessary to make this happen. Even if it was a fair match, which is contested, what ‘defeated’ Mr. Kasparov was a Chimera, not a computer. He was beaten by a sophisticated conglomerate which, really, cannot be said to ‘play’ chess at all.
