We have seen so many false wonders, so many wonders-for-sale (often in and as ourselves), that I must indeed ask myself if I know even a single person who would recognize actual wonder — directly — aside from all their models and expectations. And what I think is this: nearly all of them would respond with terror, and disdain, and disbelief. Maybe even every single one of them.
